Music Heals
Music Heals has served 2,000 + children and youth island wide.
Music Heals is our music therapy program. The program uses music therapy as a therapeutic tool to support the needs of the population of minors who are victims of violence and abuse who have been removed from their families and placed under in State shelters. Participants come from low income sectors.

Music therapy sessions have clinical-therapeutic objectives and are designed as safe spaces where participants can express and work with their fears, emotions, and traumatic experiences.
During the sessions, they learn emotional management, development of focused attention and self-regulation, mindfulness, self-esteem and teamwork is fostered, while also developing musical skills. During this process, talent is discovered and participants find a space for recreation, creativity and enjoyment.
Music Heals is a pioneer program in music therapy in Puerto Rico. We are proud to have a team of highly trained and experienced professional music therapists on staff, who bring the healing power of music to children and youth in need.

For those of us who grew up in shelters, it is like a music chest is opened from which you don't know what is going to come out of it, but inside you can hear the stories of pain and suffering. Those conversations make a transformative process. When a child dares to dream again, music comes out from that chest again.
